O dinheiro gasto com guerras ou com INVASÕES militares ilegais como no caso do Afeganistão e Iraque... não vem "do governo" e sim do do povo, dos impostos.

Numa situação de "guerra" o governo faz encomendas, milhares de contratos com empresas privadas... como a situação é de "guerra" não existe concorrência publica, o governo tem carta branca para comprar armamentos (de misseis,  aviões até pentes de balas de metralhadora) e mais as centenas de serviços (empresas de segurança, de lavanderia, mecânicos, carros civis pra transporte, etc etc) e as dezenas de milhares de itens, de produtos civis, comida, uniformes, sabão em pó, pasta de dente, etc etc...dezenas de milhares...

E tudo isso é comprado de empresas privadas, que vão receber os pagamentos baseados em preços que são aceitos pelo "ministério da guerra deles, o Pentágono. Então com a guerra ocorre uma "transferência de grana", MUITA grana, dos cofres públicos para empresas privadas. Tudo decidido pelo Pentágono, sem concorrência. As "guerras" servem para criar faturamento enorme para empresas privadas, e o governo paga tudo co0m dinheiro que vem... do povão, dos impostos.

Por exemplo... Se vc tem um tio que é general, e vc tem uma distribuidora de bebidas nos EUA... de repente seu tio mexe os pauzinhos e vc passa a fornecer milhões de garrafas de coca pro exercito e fica rico com isso, e seu tio general vai querer uma fatia claro...
Vc imagina a MEGA roubalheira e corrupção que ocorre... e quem se fode?

Em primeiro lugar a população do Iraque (Afeganistão, Líbia, etc etc... os EUA estão militarmente instalados em mais de cem países, inclusive o Brasil. E qdo rola mais uma INVASÃO norte americana... morre gente pra caralho do pais "vitimado" pela invasão e morre uma pequena percentagem de soldados (assassinos profissionais de gente inocente). E milhares de empresas, vendem produtos e serviços e te garanto que todas essas empresas tem militares ou políticos recebendo "bola" pra aprovar os contratos.

Quer dizer... os EUA hoje em dia tem uma industria bélica tao grande, que se pararem as guerras que ELES criam... vai ficar MUITA empresa sem faturamento... então eles tem que INVENTAR inimigos, fazer o povão pensar que tem "terroristas" ameaçando os EUA, etc, etc...

É uma SUJEIRA, uma maldade satânica que no final das contas é MATAR gente inocente, velhinho, criança, mulher gravida, etc etc pra movimentar CONTRATOS, vender coisas e serviços para a porra do governo dos EUA, que PAGA tudo com grana do POVO, os impostos.

O "governo" é uma entidade abstrata, formada por políticos que estão sempre sendo trocados... o "governo" de cada pais NUNCA gasta dinheiro dele ... o dinheiro gasto vem sempre do POVO, dos impostos. Mais guerras... mais gastos, menos grana para investir em estradas, saúde, educação, etc etc... e MAIS lucros pras milhares de empresas privadas...

Quase tudo é TERCEIRIZADO...
As invasões do Afeganistão (em 2001) e do Iraque em 2003 foram motivadas por MENTIRAS, nem um dos dois países atacou os EUA e nem cometeu atos de terrorismo contra os EUA. O 11 de setembro não foi ação de terroristas muçulmanos obviamente. Quem acreditar que um bando de terroristas muçulmanos seria capaz de executar um ataque extremamente complexo daqueles, dentro dos EUA, ou é muito ingenuo ou é retardado mental.

Aficionado, peccadillo, guerrilla, fiesta, machismo: the list of words that the Spanish language has exported to the English offers food for thought about our national character.

Another word now in vogue is piñata, the term used by James Rickards for the behavior of the financial markets concerning the Greek debt. This is Wall Street's favorite sport, says Rickards, who has watched the play from close up: the whole market gang take whacks at a country or a company until it breaks. In this case, the candies are the commissions pocketed by those who are battering the piñata.

Unlike the so-called casino capitalism of the 1990s, in piñata capitalism elegance takes a backseat to operators whose stock-in-trade is volatility: more market instability, hence more transactions, hence more commissions. And, in the middle: algorithms, computerized automatic purchase-sale orders, and complex financial products such as "synthetic derivatives," which many experts confess in private that they cannot follow. This bank always wins: first, some $300 million in commissions (German banks included) for placing (some say, disguising) the Greek debt in the markets; then, about as much again for betting against it.

True, no one obliged the Greek government to falsify statistics, then go to the markets to finance the debt. Markets and governments, birds of a feather, both seek a quick buck (monetary or electoral) and are loath to accept limitations to their power, or to think of the long term.

Thanks to the euro and the markets, we are all living above our means (not only in Greece and Spain, but in the United States and Britain, whose debt levels are just as high).

But the banks are also living above their means, and cannot handle the risks they generate. It is this dislocation between individual actions and collective consequences that has to be our concern; hence the package of measures proposed by Gordon Brown and Christine Lagarde to curb the excesses of financial capitalism.

Amid the Greek crisis we have forgotten that the origin of the recession lies in these weapons of financial mass destruction which enable your neighbour to buy your fire insurance policy, and then bet against other neighbours on whether or not your house will burn down.

When the crisis began, all the economists called for walloping doses of Keynesianism: open-ended public expenditure to save the banks and stimulate credit and consumption. Then it was the huge volume of bank debt that was about to break the system - now the problem is public debt.

Europe needs to regulate itself better, but it also needs better regulation of the financial markets. Beating the crisis is hard, but we all know how to do it. Hungary has shown that results are produced by cutbacks and reforms - carried out in Hungary by the IMF, and in Greece by the European Commission- but the prescriptions are the same.

The question is whether Europe can combine the powers of its member states to make a whole greater than the sum of its parts.

If we wish to lay the groundwork for prevention of future crises, one wonders why Spain, currently holding the rotating EU presidency, is not taking a more active line. Is the prolongation of the Lisbon strategy for 2020 what our presidential energies really ought to be focused on? What was all the G20 fuss about? Are the EU and the United States going to settle for weathering the storm, just to wait for the next crisis without changing the conditions that have made this one possible?

President Obama has raised this question in the United States, and has shown the road that legislation must take toward proper regulation of the financial sector. Has Europe nothing to say? Would Obama decline to attend a US-EU summit specifically devoted to this question, if the Europeans had anything to say in the matter? jitorreblanca@ecfr.eu

The credit crunch
The global financial crisis (GFC) or global economic crisis is commonly believed to have begun in July 2007 with the credit crunch, when a loss of confidence by US investors in the value of sub-prime mortgages caused a liquidity crisis. This, in turn, resulted in the US Federal Bank injecting a large amount of capital into financial markets. By September 2008, the crisis had worsened as stock markets around the globe crashed and became highly volatile. Consumer confidence hit rock bottom as everyone tightened their belts in fear of what could lie ahead.




The sub-prime crisis and housing bubble
The housing market in the United States suffered greatly as many home owners who had taken out sub-prime loans found they were unable to meet their mortgage repayments. As the value of homes plummeted, the borrowers found themselves with negative equity. With a large number of borrowers defaulting on loans, banks were faced with a situation where the repossessed house and land was worth less on today's market than the bank had loaned out originally. The banks had a liquidity crisis on their hands, and giving and obtaining loans became increasingly difficult as the fallout from the sub-prime lending bubble burst. This is commonly referred to as the credit crunch.

Although the housing collapse in the United States is commonly referred to as the trigger for the global financial crisis, some experts who have examined the events over the past few years, and indeed even politicians in the United States, may believe that the financial system was needed better regulation to discourage unscrupulous lending.



The global financial crisis enters a new phase
The collapse of Lehman Brothers on September 14, 2008 marked the beginning of a new phase in the global financial crisis. Governments around the world struggled to rescue giant financial institutions as the fallout from the housing and stock market collapse worsened. Many financial institutions continued to face serious liquidity issues. The Australian government announced the first of it's stimulus packages aimed to jump-start the slowing economy.

The U.S. government proposed a $700 billion rescue plan, which subsequently failed to pass because some members of US Congress objected to the use of such a massive amount of taxpayer money being spent to bail out Wall Street investment bankers who some people may have believed could be one of the causes of the global financial crisis.

By September and October of 2008, people began investing heavily in gold, bonds and US dollar or Euro currency as it was seen as a safer alternative to the ailing housing or stock market.

In January of 2009 US President Obama proposed federal spending of around $1 trillion in an attempt to improve the state of the financial crisis. The Australian government also proposed another stimulus package, pledging to give cash handouts to tax payers, and spend more money on longer-term infrastructure projects.
